About this development
Construction of civil and infrastructure works for the proposed new COMESA headquarters in Zambia. The facilities will include constructing a new HQ office accommodation, state of the art conference facility as well as support real property development/real estate including hotel, office and retail accommodation. The site is located on Great East Road, about 600 metres east of the airport round-about in the Chelstone area of Lusaka. The new HQ building is to be built on about half of the plot of land. The plinth area of the building is approximately 19 000m², consisting of conference centre, offices and associated support facilities, built on several levels. The building will include the following major facilities and features: Two luxurious conference halls of 500 people capacity each (1 000 people total), equipped with the latest modern conference apparatus; an exhibition room with possible extension into lobby space; executives’ lounge; cafeteria with 120 seat capacity; a modern clinic with all necessary facilities; a library with reading rooms; central store and archives; a centralized computer room equipped with all necessary facilities; comfortable rooms for confidential and central registry; a permanent products exhibition area for COMESA member countries; naturally and mechanically air conditioned individual and shared comfortable offices to accommodate 300 employees; adequate car parking spaces. The successful bidder will be expected to finance, build, operate and later transfer to COMESA the headquarters building and associated infrastructure and support facilities.
