Chrome Recovery Plant at the Crocodile River Mine (CRM)

Eastern Platinum Ltd plans to construct a chrome recovery plant at the Crocodile River mine (CRM), with a capacity of up to 600 000 ounces of platinum group metals (PG Ms) per year. Costs are estimated at R24-million. The Crocodile River mine is located on the eastern portion of the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, near the town of Brits in South Africa’s North West Province. The first phase would provide capacity of 250 000-300 000 ounces after two years and the second phase would boost it to 500 000-600 000 ounces after three to four years.
