About this development
Chibuluma Mines Plc intends to develop an underground copper deposit at Chifupu located within the 7065 HQ-LML licence area by way of a decline. This orebody is located approximately 1.5km south of the existing Chibuluma South Mine in Zambia. Currently a boxcut has been excavated at Chifupu and further works are required in order to access the orebody through a Portal. The project will involve boxcut decline footwall lifting to less or equal to 9 degrees gradient; concreting of boxcut ramp from the surface access down to the portal position; spoon drains construction on both sides of the boxcut ramp; sumps construction near the boxcut portal; steel arch set installation; filling and compacting part of excavated boxcut volume; development of a decline from portal position; development of access cross cuts, ventilation crosscuts and internal raises; development of ventilation shaft and service shaft form surface near boxcut to underground.
