About this development
Corridor Sands' Ilmenite Mine, at Chibuto 180km from the capital Maputo, in Gaza Province of Mozambique. It is estimated to contain 100-million tons of ilmenite and is considered to be a 100-year-plus asset. The project will be an opencast mining operation and it is said to be the largest known sand ilmenite resource. The process will yield various titanium products as well as pig iron.
