Cape Oil-rig Repair Yard

R1.72 billion investment in the construction of an offshore oil-and-gas platform repair facilities at Saldanha Bay and Cape Town, in the Western Cape, to service the west African oil and gas industry. The project will entail the refurbishment of the old Mossgas fabrication site at Saldanha and the simultaneous development of the A Berth in Cape Town Harbour. The project will create a world class repair and fabrication facility which will create employment and will be attractive for the refurbishment of West African offshore platforms, which currently have to be towed to the Middle East or the Far East for repairs.
