Cambambe Hydro Power Station Expansion Phase II, Angola

The Cambambe Hydro Power expansion on the Kwanza river on the border of the Cuanza Norte and Bengo provinces, in Angola entails the construction of a second power station with four additional turbines totalling 700MW. The project is part of a larger rehabilitation and expansion program being undertaken by the government of Angola, under which the country’s generation capacity is set to increase from around 1,500 megawatts to over 5,000 megawatts. Estimated project value : US$512 million.
