About this development
Development of the Buzwagi Gold Project in Tanzania, located near the town of Kahama in the Lake Victoria Greenstone Belt, about 40km from the Isaka rail head. Buzwagi will operate as an open pit mine producing 12000 tons a day. It has a resource of 2,64-million ounces (41 megatons at 2g/t) and an estimated mine life of 10 years. This will include the construction of a 110km transmission line from Shinyanga to the new mine site. The investment required to develop the project is estimated to be approximately US$400m.
