About this development
The project is to build and operate a 13 MW run of river hydropower plant and a 6km long 33 kV transmission line to connect it to the Ugandan grid. The plant is located on the Mobuku and Isya rivers in the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains in Kasese district in Western Uganda. The project is expected to cost an estimated $56-million. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) proposes to provide loan finance of $14-million for its own account.
