Project overview
About this development
The project proposed is to build eight geothermal power plants, each with a capacity of 100MW at the Bogoria-Silali Block in Kenya's Rift Valley. Detailed surface studies at the Bogoria-Silali block have indicated that is has the potential to generate around 3 000MW of geothermal electricity, using underground steam prevalent in the Rift Valley. It would be the largest geothermal power plant in Africa, capable of generating 2 000 MW, with a price tag of $31 billion.
