About this development
The Black Volta gold project (previously known as WA Gold) contains resources of over 1,1 million ounces of gold, which includes the Julie mineral resource. The Julie deposit comprises low-angle, north-dipping, east-west-trending veins extending over 6km. It has an indicated and inferred resource of 4,9 million tons, grading 2,2 g/t for 350 100oz of gold. Based on an inventory of 652 000 oz of gold, the WA project is expected to deliver an average of 90 000 oz of gold over a seven year mine life. The project is based on a conventional carbon-in-leach gold plant, located adjacent to Azumah's Kunche deposit. Ore will be source from the stage mining of a series of openpits. Capital costs are estimated at $142 million, including sustaining and deferred capital.
