Project overview
About this development
Construction of the Baro Bridge in Baro, Niger State, Nigeria. This bridge will cross the River Niger in Baro and will serve as a link between the communities of Niger State and the major roads in Kogi, Kwara, and Oyo up to Lagos. The total length of the bridge is 1806.55m. 1121.4m will be on the Baro side, it will consist of spans of up to 95.5m. While 685.15m will be on the other side and will consist of standard spans of 36m. The main spans are located on the Niger River, and the balanced cantilever method (the deck segments are erected in an alternate way at opposite ends of the cantilevers) is used for the construction of the bridge. The six central piers have double legs and are structurally continuous with the bridge deck, while the other outer piers and abutment are connected to the deck via bearings. The structural scheme for the approach span bridge consists of simply supported I-shaped beams with continuous cast in-situ top deck slab. The GPS coordinates for the project site are not available, we have temporarily placed the GPS marker in a general location of Baro until coordinates are sourced 8.612842391205543, 6.41946385608807
