About this development
Construction of infrastructure and services for the proposed Athi River mixed-use development to be located South of Nairobi along Nairobi-Namanga Road, off Mombasa Road, at Mavoko Municipality, Machakos County in Kenya. The site is located east of East African Portland Cement Company, and west of Athi River Mining Company Ltd. The proposed site is on LR no 337/619 and 337/628. The development of Athi River Mall will comprise of retail and commercial buildings consisting of an anchor tenant, fashion, financial, food/restaurants, furniture/electronics, health & beauty, line shops, children's entertainment, modern offices and other services. The mall will consist of a basement, ground floor, first floor and a roof top. The retail section will have a total of 127 units covering a total area of 20 797.95m² that will be constructed in two phases. Phase one will involve the construction of 83 retail units, with an area of 12 973.42m², while phase two will involve the construction of 44 retail units, with an area of 7824.53m². The retail area will occupy the ground floor. The offices will occupy the first floor of the building, with a total area of 1500m². The project will have a total of 648 parking spaces that will be constructed in two different phases. The first phase will involve the construction of 181 retail basement parking spaces while phase two will involve the construction of 467 retail parking bays on grade.
