About this development
Construction of bulk earthworks and civil-infrastructure services necessary for the new greenfields anthracite-mine at Somkele, 30km West of Mtubatuba, in KwaZulu-Natal. The scope of this project includes the civil works for a 1 700m blacktop access road for 20-t road haulers, 3km of internal roads, storage dams, tailings dams and a clear-water dam. Platforms for the crushing plant, working and storage facilities and a dump site, as well as office and ablution facilities will also be constructed. Also included will be the associated infrastructure facilities for 75 residential units.
