Development of approximately 924 affordable apartments, on the 47 000m² old Nedbank office block, at 120 End Street, near Ellis Park in Doornfontein in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The development includes a ground floor convenience retail store to serve the residents, as well as ancillary services such as a crèche or child care facility, and a supervised homework room for high school pupils. The development company is also seeking a long-term lease over the neighbouring, currently derelict, municipal park which it will upgrade and secure for the use of the residents and children, providing a green lung and a safe environment for social interaction and expression. The total cost of the development is R240 million.
