About this development
Construction of the Accra-Kumasi Expressway, Ghana. The value of this project is $2 billion (R32.58 billion). The scope of works could include, but not be limited to a new 199,383 km controlled- access expressway between Accra and Kumasi, consisting: 175.85 km three-lane dual carriageway mainline and 23.533 km of connector roads at the Accra and Kumasi ends, 8 grade-separated interchanges at Ablekuma New Town, Adeiso, Asamankese, Akim Oda, Ofoase, Asante Ofoase, Lake Bosomtwe and Sewua Junction Lake Road and 11 vehicular overpasses, 62 bridges including crossings of the Pra, Anum, Birim, Nsaki, and Densu rivers, 209 reinforced box culverts on the mainline, together with underpasses, pedestrian crossings and grade separations, tour service areas and eight toll stations, drainage works. road furniture and the civil works for tolling and intelligent transport system infrastructure. The GPS co-ordinates have been placed along the proposed route of construction 5°46'01.6"N 0°19'34.6"W.
