Construction works for the replacement of a 600mm diameter bulk steel water pipeline from Linbro reservoir to Alexandra Township, Johannesburg, Gauteng. R93 174 202.95. The scope of work involves the following: The decommissioning of the existing 600mm ND pipeline from Linbro Park reservoir to Bhekilanga PRV station. Removal of old pipes and associated fittings and transporting them for storage at JW Zandfontein North Depot. The implementation of a replacement of a section of the 600 mm ND steel bulk pipeline, associated gate, scour and air valves including valve chambers. The execution of pipe-jackings across roads. Tying in the newly replaced pipeline section into the remaining portion of the 600mm ND steel pipeline connecting Linbro Park Reservoir and the Alexandra water network. Implementing cathodic protection system to the pipeline. Reinstatement of the project site. Leachate drainage works. The GPS marker has been placed at the starting point of the project. The GPS coordinates for the starting point are: 26°06'12.7"S 28°07'31.8"E and the GPS coordinates for the end point are: 26°06'02.0"S 28°06'59.8"E
