About this development

Construction of the Seven Forks Solar Photovoltaic Power Project located approximately 150km northeast of Nairobi, 3km west of the Kamburu Dam and 500m south of Mavuria village, Kenya. The contract value of €60 million (approximately $73.625 million USD). Scope of works could include: Design, supply, construct, install, test, and commission a 42.5 MWac (47.5 MWp) ground-mounted solar PV plant on approximately 80 hectares of KenGen-owned land near Kamburu Dam. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): implement a 3 MW / 4.5 MWh battery storage system. Construct a 132kV high-voltage substation. Design and build a 132kV transmission line to connect the solar plant and substation to the existing grid infrastructure. Perform civil engineering works, including site preparation, foundations, and supporting infrastructure for the solar plant, substation, and transmission line. (Including but not limited to the perimeter wall, access roads, office blocks, staff housing). Defects Liability Period of 24 months. The GPS location is -0.803222, 37.666833.
