3KV DC Traction Substation Refurbishment - Work Package 1

Refurbishment and upgrades of the 3KV DC traction substation for work package 1 situated in the Gauteng North Region. The scope of works include rehabilitation and replacement of the overhead track equipment between Mabopane and Winternest as well as the replacement of foundations, structures and some steelworks. The following substations that are included are as follows, Mabopane traction substation, Mabopane distribution substation, Wolmerton traction substation, Pretoria traction substation, Concourse distribution substation, De Wildt traction substation and the Hercules traction substation.
