About this development
Construction of a 4 000 MW nuclear power plant, on approximately 31ha for all the infrastructure. State power utility, Eskom has identified three potential building sites for a possible second nuclear power plant in South Africa. The three potential sites are: Banatamklip in the Western Cape, about 10km southwest of Pearly Beach (to be Nuclear 3); Duynefontein next to the existing Koeberg nuclear power plant; and Thyspunt, close to Cape St Francis in the Eastern Cape.
