EDM invites Pre-qualifications for rehabilitation of HPPs, Mavuzi & Chicamba. Scope: Mavuzi: HPP Rehabilitation, Civil works & Hydro-mechanical equipment; Rehabilitation of 2 intake gates, 3 bottom outlets, 12 flood gates, Replacement of electric drives, controls & monitoring equipment; Repair & rehabilitation of sand trap & sediment flushing facilities; Rehabilitation & repair of head race tunnel (2.8 m dia, 2100m long); Replacement of equipment in valve chamber, (1 x 1473 mm dia and 2 x 1900 mm dia butterfly valves, atop of 3 penstocks); Rehabilitation of 3 penstocks (1 x 1473 mm dia 560 m long, 2 x 1850 mm dia, 650 m long); E&M Equipment & Auxiliaries; Rehabilitation of three 13 MW horizontal Francis turbines with double runners, two 5.5 MW horizontal Francis turbines with double runners, with supply of new runners & new wicket gates; Rehabilitation of generators. Replacement of stator & rotor windings; New brushless excitation systems; New turbine governor systems, Controls & Protection systems; New AC & DC power supply & distribution system, new UPS System; New cooling water system; New drainage & dewatering system; New Transformer 6.6/110 kV-17.5 MVA; Rehabilitation of HV equipment. CHICAMBA: HPP Rehabilitation – Civil works and Hydro-mechanical equipment; Repair and Rehabilitation of 2 intake gates, and 4 flood gates. Replacement of Cranes/hoists and electric drives, corresponding controls & monitoring equipment; Repair and Rehabilitation of 2 Draft Tube Stop Logs, 2 bypass valves. Replacement of Cranes/hoists and electric drives, corresponding controls & monitoring equipment; Rehabilitation of 2 penstocks 4m dia, 100 m long) E & M Equipment and Auxiliaries; Rehabilitation of two 24 MW vertical Francis turbines, with supply of new runners and new wicket gates; Rehabilitation of the corresponding 2 generators. Replacement of the stator and rotor windings; New brushless excitation systems; New turbine governor systems, Controls & Protection systems; Rehabilitation of main transformers and HV equipment; New AC and DC power supply and distribution system, and new UPS System; New cooling water system; New drainage and dewatering system. Additional Systems: Supply and installation of a SCADA system at Mavuzi & Chicamba and Chibata substation; Supply and Installation of fibre optic communications together with internal communications systems. Others: Training of the Employer’s staff and knowledge transfer; Computerized maintenance system.
