General Procurement Notice: Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (IPPF) to finance the Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Documents for the Rehabilitation of Five Selected Road Sections of the North South Corridor (NSC) in Botswana, Malawi and Zimbabwe. The principal objectives of this project are to carry out the prerequisite project preparation work to bring the five road sections to a ready state for investment financing. The NSC is a joint COMESA-EAC-SADC Aid for Trade initiative and its primary goal is to reduce the time, and so the costs, of the road and rail transport. It is expected that once the five projects are prepared funds will be sourced to rehabilitate them to a state where they can facilitate the smooth and timely transportation of goods, services and people. he project includes the following components : (a) Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for rehabilitation of the 64 km Pandamatenga – Ntata road section in Botswana; (b) Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for rehabilitation of the 111 km Palapye-Martins Drift (border with South Africa) road section in Bostwana; (c)Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for rehabilitation of the 205 km Bunda Turn Off / M1 Junction – Jenda road section in Malawi; (d) Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for rehabilitation of the 120 km Bulawayo – Gwanda road section in Zimbabwe; (e) Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for rehabilitation of the 200 km Gwanda – Beit Bridge road section in Zimbabwe; f) Financial Audit services.
