Leading national shopping centre developers and investors, Flanagan & Gerard Developments, is behind the mall’s development together with local partners Dissilio Investments. Paul Gerard, Managing Director of Flanagan and Gerard, says: “Heidelberg Mall will become a significant retail asset for the community and the entire region, which has been in real need for quality retail. Everyone involved in this development can be proud that the vision to develop a world-class shopping centre has come to fruition.”

In addition to an excellent line-up of top brands and retailers, Heidelberg Mall is ideally situated directly off the N3 highway between the suburb of Bersig and the existing Heidelberg CBD, on the corner of Retief Road and Jacobs Road. Jaco Coetzer, of Dissilio Investments, says that until now many greater Heidelberg residents left town to do their shopping in larger malls around Johannesburg.

This has now changed with the opening of Heidelberg Mall. Retail spend will remain in the area to the benefit of the local economy, complementing the existing CBD while adding to the retail choice in the area.” Fashionistas, sports and outdoors enthusiasts, homemakers and the tech savvy alike were spoiled for choice with the mall’s array of stores including Edgars, Truworths, the Mr Price Group, Clicks, Foschini, Markham, Cape Union Mart, Incredible Connection, BT Games and Sorbet, to name but a few among a refreshing mix of boutique and independent outlets. Heidelberg Mall also serves up generous helpings of fast food and restaurant options including Wimpy, Debonairs and Steers as well as Cappucino’s, Mugg & Bean, Ocean Basket and Nino’s.

Cllr Lerato Maloka, Executive Mayor of Lesedi Local Municipality, hailed Heidelberg Mall’s development as “a dream come true” for the community.
The mall is set to have a positive impact on the way communities in and around Heidelberg spend their leisure time and be a catalyst for the development of a major commercial hub for the region, community and commuters.

“The development of the mall will have a positive impact in various sectors of our local economy. A lot of jobs have been created to benefit our local people. The success of this development will help us attract more future investments in our municipal area because of our strategic location on the N3,” she adds.

Shoppers also enjoyed Heidelberg Mall’s ample supply of free open-air parking, maximum accessibility from major roads and highways as well as the benefit of good traffic flow. With convenient and comprehensive choice never before seen in the region, Heidelberg Mall offers a complete and attractive experience for all shoppers from neighbouring towns such as Nigel, Balfour and Henley On Klip, and even further afield.
